New this year, Technorm presents information capsules on relevant topics or specific sections of the National Building Code, for all construction professionals (architects, technologists, designers, inspectors, contractors and owners). These capsules will be published on an occasional basis and will focus on regulatory requirements.
Of the two capsules proposed for 2023, the first covers building layout on the site, as well as the location of their facades and main entrances on streets and access roads, in accordance with the requirements of article 3.2.2.10., to enable firefighting operations.
The second capsule covers basement parking garages, which can be considered as “separate” buildings for the purposes of subsection 3.2.2.
